Hi guys - replaced my pads and turned the rotors, relaced the
bearings too last weekend. Did you know that my front outer bearings had plastic cages?
Anyway, when I finished and I was bedding the pads, after three panic stops from 50 - 60 mph, the brakes started smoking. About that time, the pedal got mushy. I let everything cool off, and the pedal came back to normal.
What happened? Did I boil the fluid? Should I change it now?
Just a theory: Maybe there was a miniscule amount of air still in the system and after the calipers got hot, it expanded enough to form bubbles and cause mushiness. Might bleed 'em again...
