Well i jumped on this CL add.
Guy selling a 1975 w200
Rust free from Oklahoma truck thats been sitting for 35 years in a barn here in s.e. Massachusettes.
Well when i showed up to look at it i couldnt help to notice a Ford sitting in the barn also....
Long story short i walked away buying two truck that afternoon.
Both trucks were purchased in Oklahoma back in 1980 abd been sitting in the barn until today.
True barn find!!!
$2,500 for both trucks with not a spec of rust on either.
WOW what a steal.
Pics to follow.....
Nice Trucks......good find but I think that's a bit much to pay for both trucks together....just my opinion. If they've been sitting that long, there is a laundry list of issues to be addressed and replacement parts needed.
Congrats on the find though.....maybe you'll get lucky and sell the Dodge and get some of your money back...
You think he paid too much? That's $1250 per truck. He can probably get close to that for just the bed if he parted it out being in a rust belt state.
That IS a lot of bird poop though. I wouldn't be surprised if it ate into the paint. Looking forward to the pics in the daylight with it cleaned up. Hopefully the mice haven't been in it for those 35 years.
Ip here in the northeast its a steal....
I would never part it out but i know id get-
Cab $1000
Bed $1000
Fenders $250 each
Misc...bumpers hood ect....
Oh. I paid 2,499 for the Ford and a buck for the DOdge!!
I think that's a great buy for rust free. Biggest prob is gonna be the rats. I let mine sit in a barn for 3 years and the rat damage was terrible. Prob just gonna have to gut the interior and start over but imo, that's a lot easier than rust repair.
Yesterday I found this '51 GMC 3/4 ton (for my brother-in-law) sitting in a barn in central MN. He wanted $1500 but settled for $800 (still too much for a GMC) It's fairly clean and complete for a 65 year old truck. I does have a small block Chevy instead of the original straight 6, not sure if it runs.
Nice to hear that some of these barn finds are actually affordable and/or actually for sale.
I come from the musclecar arena, where every car that is still in a barn from 1955 to 1976 is priced like a brick of gold, and the old ignorant *******s either A) want to shoot you just for asking, or B) want a 6 digit price tag for a very rusty turd.
