i've got a problem with my brakes being so heavy to push that i'm afraid i won't be able to stop quick in a emergency. I've bleed the brakes, and recently put a new master cylinder on. The truck sat about a year before i got it running again. I recently put on new brake pads and the front so i know that the piston in the calipiers on my truck are not siezed. but i'm wondering if i have a blockage somewhere, i looked at the front brake lines and hoses on the front disc's but they don't look like their kinked or collapsed. any ideas would be appreciated. edit btw it has power booster and dual piston disk brakes on the front. i do not know if it was a conversion

well there shoudent be block edge and if there was it probaly would lock up...check clearance on the caliper make sure it ist to close to the disc' maybe check you vacum line to the booster...and maybe make sure you are actually geting power from it cause you shoudent have to push hard with a booster if it isnt working maybe thats why..
Right check for vacum first, reminds me i was going to replace the vacum hose to the booster since its kinda small and i felt it would collapse over time guess it might be collapsing now.

Back after awhile.... i checked the brakes and all of them work, but i noticed coming out of my driveway that i can lock up the rear wheels on the gravel while the front brakes still allow the truck to move forward. My friend is trying to convice me that ford brakes on pickups aren't as light and effective as i want them to be but i think its too heavy and ineffective. It seems that the front brakes aren't doing their share. I wonder if a line is kinked going from the master cylinder to the presssure differential valve, i suspect this because i was messing with the line when i was working on the power steering lines.
i just went in to the parts store and asked for a 1971 master cyclinder with disc brakes. would doing this give me the right one or am i going to need a different year?
was looking around today under my truck trying to get a few ideas. Noticed that there is this metal block with a pin in it in the front half of the brake system. Seems that one line leads to it from the presssure differential switch. I think its a metering valve is it? And if this malfunctioned would it cause the front brakes to engage late?
