catalytic converter test?
I am ready to replace my exhaust system and want to make sure my cat is working properly. Is there any symptoms I should look for or a way to test it?/

shops that replace them alot usually have a back pressur tester . it screws into the o2 sensor hole and measures the amount ig back pressure the cat is caucing. on your truck your computer would tell if there was something wrong , good luck,bob

So if i pull the engine codes it will give me the ok or not on the cat?
next step. what cat back system would you recomend to improve HP and MIlage I was thinking flowmaster.

yes it will, actually it will tell you if all is well, no codes , everything is fine. you wont see a whole lot of improvment unless you also go to high flow cats. you can only flow as much as they allow . your stock muffler is pretty restrictive, and if you wanted to go cheap, you could get a high flow muffler and a larger tail pipe and do the same thing,bob
