hey guys,
i'm usually in the other bronco forum (i have a '93) but i wanted to pay visit to this one and ask some questions about the bronco on spike tv. today on trucks! on spike tv the guy unveiled the finished Bronco named 'Crazy Horse'. it's a '67 and they did a full restoration from ground up. i wasn't too crazy about the paint job, but wouldn't mind having that to drive either. what do u guys think of it? next week is the test drive episode. -wb

I vote it as my favorite project on the show. I'd about kill to have that thing...I HATE that ghey lookin horse on the side of it though...it ruins the whole paintjob...but with that overlooked its just awesome and I cant wait till the testing...i've followed it since the first episode about it then watched rerun after rerun and finally I get to see it in action woohoo
It's a 66. I'm in the process of doing my 66.....I wish I had my own show to put that much dough into it. Very cool rig. Can't wait till this weekend to see him off road it.
Well, just saw the episode... I had a 66 myself, and would love to have another some day...
The Crazy Horse performed pretty good for it's first trip out. (so they'd like us to think) The slalom course was pretty funny, where he just ran over all the cones instead of going around them.
They starved the engine of oil going down a steep hill, and the tire rack in the bed broke. Other than that, they had no problems.
I'd like a full cab though, so I can take the wife and daughter with me into the woods.
They've been working on that thing forever, and I was glad to see it run fiunally.
I'm not crazy about the airbrush work either. It was also bad planning, because they did the paint, then had to trim a bunch of painted metal away for the flares, then even more for the gas filler. They shouldv'e planned the paint job around these features. Now it looks like the flares and gas filler were afterthoughts.
But it's a kick *** Bronco nonetheless.
I thought the Crazy Horse Bronco was great.
I have a '66 my self that i'm fixing up. The Crazy horse build up is what i strive for. but i don't have near tha money. and yea that paint job, the air bruch has to go.
The TRUCKS show on spike is really just one long advertisement. But thats ok I just use the show to point out to my Wife how much money I could have spent.
The end result can be achieved for a lot less money by finding and rebuilding good used parts vs getting on the phone and ordering new ones.
I did like the fact that they started with a rust bucket. That was a lot more real world.
Actually, compared to most early broncos around here, That Bronco was pretty nice...
But the SIN of the century (OK maybe a little exagerated) was the show Monstor Garage where they took a pristine Bronco, and hacked it up to make a rock crawler... I about cried.
And then sinned more when Jesse deliberately rolled it ripping a bunch of lines in the process. As if what he had done wasn't bad enough already. Stupid Jesse James. I'd do anything to have that Bronco before 'Insane Garage' got a hold of it. -wb
