dove-c heads question
i got new dove -c heads because old ones could not be repaired anyways the new ones have holes in the bump in the exh port the old ones didnt what are they for? also is this bump the one that is to be removed when porting. i also noticed like a little frost plug in back of heads whats this for old doves didnt have this either. finaly is comp ratio same for all dove-c heads ?

Those holes are part of the emissions system, all of them. The ones in the back (should also be in the front) with the freeze plugs is where the tube that was connected to the smog (air) pump. Yes, that is the bump that is removed (typically) when porting these heads. Don't worry about plugging the small holes in the bumps, they have no real affect on the port flow, even after porting opens them up a little more.
