whats that smell
When Im pulling hard and the pyrometer is goin up into the 8s and early 9s there comes a smell of plastic or rubber melting.I try to keep from getting the temp up there at all and when it has I wont let it for long. Ive checked for burnt wire but found none , anyone ever come across this?Could there be also a ad on that would help keep her cooler ,1990 f350 centurion 3 door 7.3l e4od 140,000 dually puller.THANKS S.L.

I had this same problem with my old Trooper diesel, albeit at about 1100-1200*. The only thing I could figure was that the oil going through the turbo was getting extremely hot and was gassing, and the smell was what the recirc system couldn't get rid of being vented through the fresh air inlet.
