Torque spec for carb bolts ??

First - I just completed an order for a CD-ROM Factory Service Manual from, of course, MotorHaven, so I'm not trying to be cheap and I've surely getting a deal on it because of all the money I've saved just by reading these forums. I'd buy it here if it was twice the price just for the payback before I picked up a deal on this item from EBay. <pontification end>

But the CD isn't going to get here by tomorrow morning when I intend to do some carb troubleshooting and I need to know the factory torque spec for the carb base plate bolts. (carb is a 1405 Edelbrock if it matters)

Anyone have that available?

I've read in some posts that they may be as high as 180 or may be 150. Be nice to see exactly what Ford says.

The Haynes manual says 144-180 in-lbs. Thats INCH-POUNDS. I don't have a torque wrench that goes that low. I just use a 3/8 drive and use only one hand with moderate to high torque. I would like to know how your deal for the CD turns out on ebay. I would like to get some CDs but some guys selling them seemed like shady characters.

Thanks for the torque info.

I'm ordered my CD from Motorhaven the online store for this club. Not EBay. It was $49 which is about half what I see the paperback manual set goes for on EBay. Would have bought the paper volume set from Motorhaven as well but didn't see it listed.

CD is good for search but I still like the feel of a book and flippin pages. :-)

I've shopped a reasonable amount on EBay over the last few years. Occasionally I see some good deals but I gotta say that at least for what I've been purchasing lately I find the retail outlets for the same items (usually new) aren't that much higher. Frankly EBay has so much "buy now" listings it's like going to a retail outlet anyway. At least with retail I have some higher level of trust, can find specialist answers for questions, etc. I much preferred EBay back in the day when it was for people selling things they didn't need instead of people trying to make a living on EBay.

Motorhaven's CDRom manual is by Far the best on the market.

It is a copy of the orginal Ford shop manuals (5) plus a wiring diagram & the original sales brochure & a light hearted page on the year of the truck.
