i posted when i first got my truck bout getting hit on the passengers side rear quarter panel back in december. anyhow i am just now gettin round to painting it sometime soon. i was just thinkin that this would be a great opportunity fer a cool custom paint scheme on the back of my truck(both sides). so, i am wanting any and all suggestions and ideas. lets start hearing them! by the way, my truck is white and i was thinkin somethin in blue with a ford oval. but i am up to anything.
It's not nearly as "professional" looking, but have you thought about vinyl instead of paint? I've been looking for some stuff to break up the 20 acres of white down the side of my truck. There are some pretty cool looking vinyl graphics available now.
i did think about that nomo, but i was really lookin fer somethin to paint on it since ill be paintin anyways. not really radical, but somethin that cant be duplicated, original. thanks fer the idea, keep em' commin'!
On my last white truck, I did just black 2"squares along the bottom of the truck.
Looked like a checkered flag, of course racing is my business, so it tied in well.
Guys always want me to do some cool stuff on their cars, I tell them it's suppose to reflect your personality and likes, tell me what YOU want.
Just don't go with splash style graphics or any pastel colors, way to 80's

i have been going back and forth with my buddy that owns a paint and body shop...... he wants to shoot some ghost flames on my truck in either gray or purple.... i have seen a lot of his work and know it'd look really good... but one of the reasons i bought white was so you can't see them desert pinstripes.......
you may want to consider the pinstriping issue before you spend your hard earned dollars
I too would reccommend the ghost flames. A few of my friends have had them on different trucks they owned and it looks really good. I would also agree with an earlier reply, don't do pastel or a splash graphic. I think that Ford oval into flames is a cool idea. You could also do a Blue Ford Oval that fades into white so it blends into your truck.

I was looking for pics of it and found every thing but.
I found a pic of my 78 bronco that I ran 36" buckshots on.
That was in 1980, and I put these big pink stripes on it.
Back then I guess it was sorta cool, kinda embarrassing now.
Also found a pic of my 86 150 after I painted it, that had a 6" in it also. I put some corny turqouise pinstripes on it.
GOD..WHAT WAS I THINKING!!
well guys i have narrowed it down to this. it will be a ford oval. but i dont know what color or how i am gonna do it fer sure. im thinkin a dark metalic blue. and i am thinkin bout starting it at the top of the rear wheel well and drag it out back towards the top corner of the bed. i am kinda torn between painting from the oval back the same color as the oval or just leaving it white. still alot to think about.
