Broken hood release cable

Broken hood release cable
Ok, I've got a real problem here. I went to pop my hood and when I pulled on the release, the cable broke. To make matters worse, the cable broke about half way up so I can't even get at it from the inside. How on earth am I going to be able to pop the hood? Can I do it from outside through the grill? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
