changing settings on 1715

KEN, MY TRUCK IS 1999 F-150 XL 4.6 V-8. I NEED TO CHANGE THE TIRE SIZE ON IT. IF I CAN'T DO IT WITH THE 1715, HOW CAN I DO IT. HOPE IT'S NOT AT THE DEALERSHIP.

I have the same truck as yours and was able to change tire size by editing custom options. Read the instructions that come with the tuner. It is very easy to do.

You can change it with a Superchips 1715.

KEN, I HAVE TO BELIEVE YOU BUT THE TECH AT SUPERCHIPS TOLD ME IT WON'T WORK. I GUESS HE GAVE ME SME BAD ADVICE. I 'M GOING TO TRY IT TOMMOROW. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE HELP.

It shouldn't be a problem with the 4.6/5.4 in 1999. 97s and early 98s can't do it. I won't contradict Superchips but we have hundreds of customers using them that have this feature. Maybe you just have an oddball code they didn't program it for? What's the 4 digit code on the right door frame near the hinges? Its on a white sticker the size of a postage stamp.

Ken, the code on the door frame id YBQ3. This truck was built in Canada, I don't know if that makes any difference. Thanks again.

I show this as a file that can have axle/tire size adjustments. Not sure why Superchips wouldn't support it. I've dispatched a support ticket with Superchips... will let you know.

Did you get this unit through us? If so, they'll need us to fax a copy of the invoice if they decide to update your tuner.
