Congrats!! Kinda feels good to fix what the dealer couldn't fix doesn't it? I think they rely on computers and codes too much to tell them what's wrong instead simple logic. After my fiasco with the dealer several months ago I never went back to complain... probably should have though. They wanted $2400 to fix what I fixed for a $6 fuel filter and my labor (plus a locking gas cap). What parts did you end up replacing?
couple of bugs still to work out think i may be missing a censor, notice i forgot to hook up a vacum line. everything seems normal now excpet the check engine light keeps coming on. i am gunna read codes to see what i missed. i replaced regulater filter, and i installed the damaged injector for now. i plan to dissasemble fuel rail in a week to clean injectors again to ensure there free of contamination. also i will probibly deal with damaged injector. I feel as if I was a ford tech i would be entitled to millions.
On a more serious note i don't mean to put ford service or representitives down. all in all they do there job well. i have recieve lots of warrentee work on things they really should have covered. this is just one bad experience that should have been covered

I agree. But, then there are a few that just don't have the resources (mental or otherwise). But you only hear about the bad, huh?
What was the underlying factor in all this anyway?
by underlying do you mean not being ****ed at ford or a technical issue? I think you mean my attiytude towards ford.
The dealership that am not please with is the 2nd time i have been ther. Sarat ford is where i tippically go for repair. they are top notch, but i have had 2 friends had trouble there; but, they were quick to offer a solution that work for all parties involved.
I plan to only pay $200 eventhough i did accept the $500 fee but i will go down tommarow with my repaired vehichle and ask them how they sleep at night. hopefully they'll make it right. i'd even compremise to pay 250. i figure regulator and filter was $60 in parts.Ford charges like $72/hour labor. anyone know what ford has in there book for service time for filter regulater change? I think 3-4 hours is pushing it
i still don't know where this rust came from. my guess that it developed in the system in the fuel filter i know this doesn't make sence. but the totally clean tank with rust collecting in the pump houseing. once rust reached houseing via return line it would have to break down to go through filter and re evter lines.
well there is no hours logged on my statement, let me quote some of it for your review, also keep in mind they did not drop the tank. This is all word for word
"Verified concer. runs poorly. Quick test, pass pinpoint test for systems. relative compression check fuel systems check,65psi, hi GH. isolated regulator from return line checked for obstruction, none. replaced regulator, presure reduced, but still high, took fuel samples before and after filter, contaminated. reremoved regulator already buildup begining. requires injectore, fuelpump, and all lines and fuelrail flush. not preformed at this time by customer request.Reassembled and replace fuel filter. released to customer."
Alright one key word here in the first line is "quick"
check the forth line. "obstruction,none"
line 6 "Already buildup begining" how is this?
i agree i should pay fore what is stated in the last two lines "reassembled and replaced fuel filter" which is the only thing i "told them to do.
labor amount is 418.70
parts 61.75
misc/envir. charges 25
