I dont know much about the 300 but I want to know if it is a multi-point efi? THe reason I am asking is because I want to order a universal nos wet kit.
the biggest NOS shot you will ever be able to run on an EFI 300 is a 50hp shot. this is due to the fact that it will fall on its face after 4000...more like 3500 actually. nos becomes effective in the upper rpm range, thats why its great for ricers. do a search on here and you will see this topic has been discussed several times. i believe it was discussed in the sticky at teh top of the forum. NOS may not be what you are looking for if you want cheap power. that sticky at the top is very useful for finding power in your 300, but no matter what you do, it will still be a TRUCK motor. not a hotrod...that is unless you have toms of money to spend.
every truck is different. you will never find an exact chart that says "this mod will give you 20 hp and this one will give you 15" if your going for horses you'd get more out of a 302 for the money. the 300 is all low end torque. if you want to race get a 5.0. the 4.9 is a low rpm truck.
the 6 is just for pulling like they said. do you want to pull something heavy or do you haul things now. you could do the headers yourself if the exhaust pipe matches up with the headers. you could also do the cam but if you have never done it i would not attempt it.
