I was wondering if anyone on the site has used the "non-stock" or "custom" inner fender panels on their 53-56 F100's? I see them for sale on the F-100 Connection website and didn't know if anyone else made or sold them. I like the clean look of them but they seem to require a bit of modification and fab work to get them to fit right.
I bought the SS inner fenders and fire wall cover from Mid Fifty. They already had bolt holes punched and they were pre-bent. The instructions are not very clear but through trial and error I was able to get them to fit. I ended up having to trim off about 1/2" off of the cabside of both inner fenders. Also I had to trim the bottom of the firewall piece to accommodate the throttle linkage. You will be glad if you buy a nibbler for the cutting. I got a neumatic from Harbor Freight for $19. The finished edge is very sharp by the way. A little grinding will smooth the edge and make it a little safer to work around. They look great, but they were quite a job to install. Good luck, John
