i totally agree, thats why i kept it simple with 285/75 on my stock truck. i'll still have plenty of room for clearance off roading and playing where ever. 305/70 rub people!!!!! too wide for a stock 16x7 rim any way.
Don't feel bad, I got busted for suggesting the usage of a firearm in an illegal manner against those with a particularly leftist lean. Maybe if I had suggested to use my FORD TRUCK to commit bodily harm it would have met with a more welcome reception.Besides, who wouldn't like a vertically challenged person with homosexual tendencies and a penchant for frilly christmas-like lingerie?
Ok Yeti you forgot one thing. What lift too i need for 35's and what lift for 38's. just bought my truck yesterday. 265/75's look tinny. and one more question my truck has snow plow pakage are those the famous X spring's ?
On a Serious note, you really would want a 6" kit with 35's and a 10" kit with 38"s.. now everyone will tell ya youd be good with 38s and an 8" kit... you probably will.. thats what this post was all about.....my 10" kit with 36"s never gives me any trouble, even off the pavement!... but it comes amazingly close.. i would watch it closely if i threw 38" PJs on there.. Now 38" swampers are about the same size as 36" "PJs so id not worry there.....Anyway my friend with 10" lift had his 39.5 thornbirds, that were 90% worn out, (actually measured 37"), well we hit a ditch at 30mph.. and he got a custom made fender cutout, or should i say smashed out!... fender well on his driver side.. couldnt even open the driver door, the front fender had moved back too much.... so you wont convince me.. or Yeti!
JJ
Any good tire shop will test fit a tire for you. And if any good tire shop wants you back to buy more tires they wont sell you something thats gonna F up your truck! I bought tires last week and that was my experience. Love my 305's can't wait for the 4" lift next year so I can fit 315's.
See Yeti. The thing is you have lookers and doers.. Lookers just like the look and they don't care if it works or not. Doers, well they may like the look but it better work because when you get out there and something does not work. It can ruin a hole day and cost big $$$$. So like you said, will they fit yes. Will they work no. what is fun is to talk a looker into going off roading with you and watch the parts fly!!
Hmmm.... that is a pretty good point there, Jaygos. That ought to be another standard question in these threads-Are you a looker or a doer? That way we will know what to recommend.
