cold front

Is a cold front useful for something in the cold weather. For the last month we've had between -10 and -25 C. What is the use a these cold fronts?

Winter fronts cover the grill to block off the air flow from the front of the radiator on big trucks. The better ones are able to be opened up in stages. They definitly make the heater work better and help keep the engine up to operating temp. They also help the engine warm up quicker. But when they are installed and closed up completely you have to pay close attention to the temperature guage to make sure you do not overheat the engine. I have never seen one for a pickup unless it was homemade. Since they are manufactured for medium and large trucks I would guess they are available for pickups from somebody.

i got mine from lund.it comes in sections and snaps into the seperate sections of the grill.my uncle has one for his 90 f350 thats made from cloth and has a zipper in the center to adjust the air flow.i have to leave the center three sections open because the plow frame is in the way.but even with the grill 90 percent blocked and plow up all the way she runs right at the R in normal.
