How long will it really take???
It's been 1 week since I ordered my 1st SD..Previously owned trucks include a 1990 Chevy 454 SS 
and a 1998 Dodge SS/T :-X11 ..
it was time to order the best...
.
How long will it REALLY take for this truck to come in? I ordered from a medium size dealership in Illinois...the standard 6-8 week time frame was given..
I'm figuring this site will have the real scoop..based on real
experiences...your thoughts?

How long will it really take???
I ordered mine in mid Feb.and it took exactly 5wks.I bought mine in Cincinnati,Oh. which is only about 125mi.from where it was built in Louisville,Ky.It was shipped by truck which is quite a bit faster than rail.For your sake,hope for truck shipment.

I'm trying to be patient...the evening of my post I got a v/m from
the dealer..giving me the VIN number and a build date of 5/27...
which is Memorial Day....hmmm...the dealer then indicated a 2 week
wait after that..Pleading ignorance..does build date mean exactly
what it says? It's built on 5/27? then shipping takes 2 weeks?
or is there more to the picture...????

Build dates are always the Monday of the week the truck is scheduled. Your build date of Memorial Day means it will be built no earlier than May 28, and no later than June 1st, assuming they are working on Saturday.

How long will it really take???
Mine did take about two wks from the build date to deliver so that sounds about right. Mine was also built I think the day after the build date that I was given. The waitin's tough. Hang in there!
My superduty took about 9 weeks but it was ordered as a 2001 and rolled over into a 2002. So it took a little longer with the model change.
