Who theoretically lost theoretical money on superbowl squares tonight? I may have lost 5 dollars tonight. Did anyone theoretically win any theoretical money? I have had panthers 1 and new england 5. It didn't do me any good, if I had anything on it that is.
I had it made before Carolina made that last TD in the 4th, C=2, P=9, When they made the TD to tie I thought all was lost then Hubby pointed out that the "square" was for the Final = I'm back in. Tie game at 29-29, I needed Carolina to score hold the Pat's and then score 3. Would bring me back to the C=2, P=9...........Ended up exactly the opposite.
Would have had $200 on a $5 investment. Just my luck..........
Actual loss was $-0- (Hubby paid and if I won it was all mine). Of course if any of his numbers came in, 1/2 was "mine". Now - - - That's just one woman's point of view........

I have no idea how the squares work...
nor do I plan on playing them, but Id like to know how it works
Almost forgot to answer this. It's quite easy - you pay $1 (less or more depending on the pool) for one "1" square. You want more than one square, you pay the same for each square. There's 100 squares and you put your initials in whatever squares you choose as long as someone hasn't already taken the square. You do NOT know what point # you're rooting for until all the squares are filed. Once all squares of the 100 are filled it's time to draw the numbers for the "cross-matching". These are the numbers, between 0 & 9 of each team for both across the 10x10 board and down the 10x10 board (equaling 100 squares). First, to determine if the Pat's pick is going to be across (first picks) or down (second picks), we draw from a pill (pool pills) bottle. High # is Pats on top row, low # is Carolina on top row. As it turned out, Carolina was on the top row and the Pat's were on the up-down column. Next, you pick the (pool pills) from 0-9 and write them above the 10 columns (your Carolina picks) and then pick the (pool pills) from 0-9 and write them next to the Pat's 10 rows.
Match up the numbers in the columns and rows to what square you put your name in and that is your goal for the game. At the final, the squares I had were C=2 and P=9. When it was Carolina 22 and Patriots 29 at the final 4+ min's I was doing good. Then Carolina tied it by a touchdown making it C=9, P=9. If Carolina would have gotten that stupid field goal instead of the Patriots, it would have put it back to me winning (C=2, P=9) Instead, it ended up with C=9, P=2. $200 out the door for me.
So, are you totally confused as to how the squares work now???
If nothing else, you learned that I LOST $200 on the Super Bowl square pool...........
I get how you make the board
but not sure how a C-2 P-9 has anything to do with the score
if it was 22 29 i could understand.... 2 on the 2s, and a 2 and a 9
