You want an unstreetable engine to run on pump gas? I don't think 700 horses have ever been seen on pump gas from a 460 man. That's at least an 8,000rpm engine. Maybe some of the 460 guys can help you out.

Define streetable? Well you could copy the below links combo to a stroker motor. 9.5:1 compression and 600hp, maybe if you substitute the ford motorsport cam with a comp or crane and bump the compression a point, you might get another 50 hp, maybe. Contact that company and see if they can help you. Good luck, later

Ford's 514 crate motor is a 645 horse engine on pump gas.You might be able to get close with the rite selection of part's.I don't know how much you want to spend but the addition of aluminum cylinder head's would help you out.You can get away with more compression with aluminun since it displaces heat better.

I'm no 460 expert, but I can tell you that you're power is made in the heads and the cam. Air in, exhaust out. The more the better. You might look at http://www.edelbrock.com for the cylinder heads. Get a good wild crane roller cam and you'll probably come close.

I saw a test a while back that a magazine did using the 514 crate engine from Ford. They took the aluminum CJ heads on it and swapped them for SCJ heads. Then they put in a big Comp cam. It made just over 700 hp. The CR on that engine would be around 10:1. It should run on pump gas. Mind you this was also using stock, unported heads. I think using properly ported SCJ heads with the right cam and a CR right around 10:1 would give you 700 hp or more. You need to keep in mind though, that this engine will not be happy, AT ALL, below at least 3000 RPM's. It would not be too much fun on the street. At least not for anything driven on a semi-regular basis.
