Single Over Head Cam

Tow as little as possible as those transmissions just don't hold up and it's expensive to rebuild/replace. We had the factory two package and on our 4th transmission with little towing. Just constant hauling around of lots of weight seems to go through transmissions for us.

Well you CAN tow anything you want since you own it. We happily towed around lots of stuff until the first transmission went out~100K. Then the second one went and made us suspicious.

We researched and found that Ford built the transmission pretty puny. Still, ome folks think that 100K is a lot to get out of a transmission and that's just when it went out on my daughter's 97 Explorer too. $2300 later, she didn't think it was so great (and she never towed a thing but bought it used so who knows).

I would think a jet ski is pretty light depending on the way it's loaded and the hitch/weight distribution, etc. Just be aware that you might get the infamous blinking overdrive light and a broken transmission to go with it so start saving your money.

You probably won't even remember that Jet Ski is back there while towing. You shouldn't have any problems. I've been towing my 14' trailer with my B2 on it, with my '99 XLT SOHC for 2 years (just under 6000 LBS) and have had no problems with my tranny so far (knock on wood). I got 84,000 hard miles on it too. I used to beat it real good off-roading before I got my B2. The tranny IS the weak spot, but if you maintain it and get/use a tranny cooler it will help a lot. Unfortunately every Ford tech I have talked to says that these are 100,000 miles trannys. Ford just didn't put enough into them. I guess they figured "Soccer moms" wouldn't tow. Needless to say I am expecting to have to replace/rebuild my tranny in about 10 - 20,000 miles.
Good luck and safe towing.
