President
A good leader isn't afraid to make unpopular decisions for the good of the nation.
In the long run, our bombs falling on Japan after being attacked worked out for the best (for the U.S. anyway). I'd hate to see where we would be today if we hadn't reacted strong enough to that threat. Japan and the U.S. are allies now. Maybe we will have allies of some of our enemies in all of this before it is over.
First and foremost, I believe the Republican notion of what the Democrats
would have done shows me that they are second guessing their decision to go to war, knowing well that the American people are normally hard to fool.(I know this because they are now looking for a fall guy for the bad intelligence on Iraq's WMDs...what a coincidence that the panel to investigate is scheduled to report its findings until after the elections)
Now....onto the point of this post....
The decline of our economy didn't take place until late 2001 (after the attacks) I know this......I lost my job abd know thousands of others who also lost their jobs.....I have also looked up several economic performance charts that date back to the Reagan days.....the results of each administration were astounding....it seems that all it takes for the market to head south is to spook investors....All I had to do to get spoked was to listen to GWB speak. He didn't inherit a failing economy.....he spoke!!! and every time he does the market dips!!!
He is trying to take credit for the rebounding economy....but where are the jobs? a jobless economic recovery......this only means that the investors are feeling a wee bit better about having their money in the market.
It wasn't until the Clinton administration that payments on the national debt were payed two years in a row.....(this coincides with balanced budgets and
surpluses) This also correlates the low jobless rate and high productivity. Something the Bush administration will never match.
Any president in office would have responded with our mighty military machine.....and started the war on terror.....Although I didn't agree on thereasons for starting the war on Iraq, I will and do support our troops as they are a great bunch of people.
I do not agree with GWB sending our men and women in uniform to war when he himself was in a way, a draft dodger....how hypocritical, we have neighbors who have lost family members in this conflict. But we can't question his ability to lead because "he is the war president". Geeze...cmon people...
common sense here....
It was a Republican administration who didn't finish the job in the first place.......the US and its HUGE coalition should have gone in and cleaned up Iraq when it DID infact have WMDs...
Onto our jobless rate....Our beloved president has a huge doctrine for foreign policy.....but no provisions for jobs at home.....infact our administration sit by and watches our jobs go overseas....even after the tax cuts that mostly beneifted the large corporations and extremely wealthy. If it wasn't economically viable for these companies to set shop up overseas, they wouldn't do it.....but with the added tax breaks....cheap labor...profits are at an all time high....
Good for investors and corp structure....but we lose our tax base here in the US.....tis means less $$$ for the govt in the long run....this means the lvel of skilled workers here in the US will decline. This also means the level of unemployment will skyrocket....like it hasn't already.
If you read the recently passed Medicare Bill.....it was supposed to benefit the retired.....but if you really read it....it benefits the pharmaceutical corps....
it is almost as if they wrote it and Bush rubber stamped it.
Education.....Bush proposed so many federal mandates...but rarely back them up with cash......this inturn leaves cash strapped states to comply with mandates they aren't receiving funds for!!!It looks good for election years....
but where is the track record on these "programs"? No child left behind...
is another facade....more paper work for teachers who should be teaching....
they dangle the apple and if one student doesn't pass the test....(regardless of better overall scoring) the money promised doesn't trickle down to the schools.....a good election year tactic....but hopefully people will wake up.
Bottom line....I want all of my fellow Americans to have jobs.....
with expenses increasing as time goes by....how will we pay our rents, eat? pay for medical care? afford education? Taxes?
Now he wants to go to mars.....heheh...is he looking for our lost jobs there? WMDs? like we can afford to go!!!!
ok....thanks for letting me vent....hopefully the post was within the guidelines and didn't step on toes.
have a great day regardless of political persuasions...
first of all, where are the moderators on this guy? my threads got locked up for makin a hippie joke
Moderators and Webmaster: please do not lock this thread due to what juggernaut posted. i think ive difused his attempt to flame and i hope to hear a responsible, knowledgable response to my argument.
- Tim
I think guys...... if you noticed Kens reply......that juggernaut is gone for good after that post, violations of the rules are gonna be clipped, period, and its obvious thats what happened
interesting conversation though in a forum I dont frequently visit or reply to for just the reason above, I would like to be a moderator someday and give back to the site thats given so much to me, and dont want to be associated with posts like that
However Tim, you made some very valid points, and for what its worth I agree with you
Oh, and President George W. Bush, I like too!
My vote and support strongly remains with him, and his representation. He's done, and is doing a Great job for us all. Aside from just good 'work'.....he's also a man/leader of character and aim that I proudly 'follow'~~which has become *quite* rare for me in this day and age.
anyhoo. more than enough people don't like President Bush. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all. He just don't seem to bright. thats all.

this Kay guy is really shoving hot briquettes down the "Intelligence investigation's" trousers....
Here is another link to back my claims up....based on factual information

I also watched an economist on MSNBC today who said "in the long run, it is good that the global market takes jobs from the US....that it will make the US more competitive and productive in the future".
How can Americans losing their jobs be good?!?!?! We are losing our skilled manufacturing jobs and will be left with nothing but service based economy...
Servic based jobs canprovide a certain amount of jobs....but our country's
tax base has always been from the three pronged manufacturing, agriculture and service....
If Americans will be out of jobs what will happen to our tax base? The only other way to keep people working is to expand the govt even more....just like the depression era.
We are in trouble and our beloved prez is doing nothing to retain our jobs here.....
I said enough of violating the guidelines. I meant it. One gone.
I don't care how strongly someone feels about an issue:
No calling people names. No badgering. No baiting. No by-passing the language filters. No demeaning other users for their opinions.
If something wasn't done about that one...your rules would've been meaningless...

I will chose anyone but Bush.....(and I am a conservative as are my parents)
Interesting. Does that mean that you'll be voting Libertarian in November? Kerry is an ultraliberal, so I wouldn't expect a Conservative to vote for him instead.
First and foremost, I believe the Republican notion of what the Democrats would have done shows me that they are second guessing their decision to go to war, knowing well that the American people are normally hard to fool.(I know this because they are now looking for a fall guy for the bad intelligence on Iraq's WMDs...what a coincidence that the panel to investigate is scheduled to report its findings until after the elections)
I believe that Bush has been reluctant to blame a "fall guy". If he wasn't, Tennet would be long gone. I think that GW got a little counceling from his father who was a former CIA director and knows a thing or two about the difficulty of conducting covert intelligence in the Arab world. GW realizes that it wasn't just a failure of US Intel, it was a world-wide Intel failure. Everyone believed that Saddam had WMDs, including Saddam himself. Even his generals believed that they had them. But, what they had instead were a lot of underlings lying to the boss to get more money. Ask yourself, if Saddam didn't know that he had no WMDs, how on earth would you expect foreigners without any in-country spooks to know?
What the world had were satellite photos and other Intel taken from afar and intercepted messages that said they had WMDs along with knowledge that he had used WMDs on his own people in the not-so-distant past.
Now....onto the point of this post....

The decline in the economy started in 2000. If you look at the "real rate of growth" it dropped from 5% - 2% from the beginning to the end of 2000. http://www.findarticles.com/cf_dls/m.../article.jhtml
The "official start of the Recession" was March 2001, hardly into Bush's Presidency to be blamed on him. http://www.dawn.com/2001/03/31/ebr9.htm says that the end of 2000 was the weakest economic growth rate in 5 1/2 years.
I don't mind people saying negative things abourt GW, but I, at least, hope that they can back up those statements with facts. The above shows that GW inheritted a Recession, a Recession that was deepened by 9/11, but not cause by it.
He is trying to take credit for the rebounding economy....but where are the jobs? a jobless economic recovery......this only means that the investors are feeling a wee bit better about having their money in the market.
Here, read what Greenspan has to say about the current economy.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2004Feb11.html
The jobs will come, but they lag behind by typically ~18 months. Productivity gains have been instrumental in slowing job growth over the past few years as well. According to Greenspan, that was a big surprise.
It wasn't until the Clinton administration that payments on the national debt were payed two years in a row.....(this coincides with balanced budgets and surpluses) This also correlates the low jobless rate and high productivity. Something the Bush administration will never match.
Reread recent history. It was a Republican Congress that FORCED Clinton into a balanced budget. The Democrats, who controlled the House for the prior 40 years couldn't do it. It took the first Republican Congress in my lifetime to do so. (Remember from US Civics Class: Only the HR has the power to spend Federal money)
Any president in office would have responded with our mighty military machine.....and started the war on terror.....Although I didn't agree on thereasons for starting the war on Iraq, I will and do support our troops as they are a great bunch of people.
Clinton had the opportunity to deal harshly with terrorists after the World Trade Tower bombing and the USS Cole incident. Instead, he lobbed a few missiles at a pill factory in the Sudan, hardly an effective response to terror on US soil as we found out. And considering Democratic candidates' statements about us NOT being better off today, I shudder to think what actions Kerry and Dean would have taken.
I do not agree with GWB sending our men and women in uniform to war when he himself was in a way, a draft dodger....how hypocritical, we have neighbors who have lost family members in this conflict. But we can't question his ability to lead because "he is the war president". Geeze...cmon people...
common sense here....
GW served honorably in the National Guard and was Honarably discharged. To call him a draft dodger, like Slick *****, is absurd.
It was a Republican administration who didn't finish the job in the first place.......the US and its HUGE coalition should have gone in and cleaned up Iraq when it DID infact have WMDs...
Damned if we do and Damned if we don't? You can't have it both ways. You can't condemn Jr for finishing the job that you agreed that Sr should have done.
This is nothing more than typical liberal claptrap. The President has done many things to stimulate the economy and increase jobs. For example, did you know that ALL of the Democratic candidates are in favor of higher CAFE standards that will result in the further loss of hundreds of thousands of MORE automotive related jobs if passed? Did you know that he favors a reduction in capital gains taxes that would stimulate the rebuilding of US industry infrastructure by allowing them to reinvest ? He also gave the US taxpayers a tax cut to help stimulate domestic spending, a move that should help stimulate domestic production.
Good for investors and corp structure....but we lose our tax base here in the US.....tis means less $$$ for the govt in the long run....this means the lvel of skilled workers here in the US will decline. This also means the level of unemployment will skyrocket....like it hasn't already.
We need to live in the "real world" and realize that business doesn't function in a vacuum. Anti-business legislation initiated by Congress DOES have an effect on industry. When you regulate an industry so tightly that you squeeze a significant chunk of its working capital out through regulatory compliance, labor laws, litigation of frivilous lawsuits, etc., the temptation to go off-shore is increased. Every time I hear the Democratic candidates rail against Big Business, I think to myself "there's more fodder for moving off-shore" because that's EXACTLY what will happen. The simple truth is, if you want industry to stay, you have to make them "feel wanted", just like you would if you were having guests stay at your house.
If you read the recently passed Medicare Bill.....it was supposed to benefit the retired.....but if you really read it....it benefits the pharmaceutical corps....
it is almost as if they wrote it and Bush rubber stamped it.

Starving babbies and Seniors MUST be included in EVERY attack on Republicans. It's in the DNC Handbook.

Now he wants to go to mars.....heheh...is he looking for our lost jobs there? WMDs? like we can afford to go!!!!
Are you sure HE wants to go to Mars? I figured he'd want to send others.
ok....thanks for letting me vent....hopefully the post was within the guidelines and didn't step on toes.

You have a great day, too. It was fun sharing views with you.
Though you don't see it this way, more people on the extreme right have been moderated than people on the extreme left. The only double standard is the one you are using to judge moderation actions.
If you leave the site because Pig Pen is closing then perhaps you were sticking around here for the wrong reasons? Afterall, its a Ford truck site, not a political site.
