i know this is not an everyday thing, but i was wondering if anyone knows what would have to be done to install a jack much like the ones for an electric guitar amp in my truck so i could play over my truck speakers. would this even be possible? any suggestions, advice, or ideas are appreciated
Thats an intersesting 1!
I think with some patience it can be acheived
You will need a aftermarket head unit
Most of the big name units will have
a rca type aux input or a bus connector that you can get a rca
type adapter to plug to that
from there you can get a phono jack to rca adapter
at radioshack or likewise and your good to go
post if you have any more questions

actually i have all the cables cuz i plugged my guitar into my comp that way to record stuff, where is the aux line located though, i have a clarion head unit, would it work or would i need a diff or better one, thanks
Here's the kicker. Your guitar pickups put out about as much of a signal as a microphone (-20 db) . You have to kick it up using a preamp with mic level inputs and line level outputs. Berhinger makes a nice little mic mixer for about $50.00 that would do the job. It runs off 12VDC. See your local "Guitar Center" store or check out Musicians Friend (same thing) on line.
ya, i have a preamp/mixer, what i dont' know is how i would have to hook everything up for my truck. i have jillions of different cable and audio stuff for all kinds of various stuff. so if anyone knows what would have to be done to hook it up to truck let me know please, thanks for the help though, its all appreciated
