I am fixin' to install boost and pyro guages. I have not done it yet because I am not sure which location I like best. Obviously the A-pillar is the most popular location, but I am not sure I want all that crap stickin' out in my line of sight. I would RATHER have the guages down low where a quick glance would get the job done. However, I can't seem to find a location I like.....that is why I want opinions. I have also looked at the x-monitor, but I seem to like the old style needle guage best. Also, any pics????? I hate to drill on my truck, so a clean installation is where I want to be.
I'm with HeatStroked on this one.... Before I got my gauges, I thought having them on the A-pillar was going to be a problem, but it's not. As he said, it's the best place to mount the gauges if you want to keep them in your line of sight. The one that I'd be most concerned with while under load is the pyro, so mine is mounted in the top spot in the pod, right at eye level.
There's one other advantage to the A-pillar mount that hasn't been brought up. It's the bling-bling thing. When ricers come up along the driver's side, and see the gauges on the A-pillar, you can see the passenger nudge the driver, and they both look up to check it out. I do my best not to make eye contact, but it's hard to be humble when you're being scoped out.
