I have a 85 F250 extra cab but it only has a pair of 6.5" speakers in the doors and I'm wondering if there's an easy way to add some rear speakers. I'd like some 6x9s for the bass but anything would help. There is a high end blaupunkt cd player (don't remember the model number right now) and the doors are midrange blaupunkt 3 ways. It sounds good but I'm used to four speakers. Any help is appreciated.

Some people like the sound of rear speakers. In reality, they add nothing when it comes to sound quality. But if you prefer that sound, go for it. Just my opinion on the "bass" comment. While you may be satisfied with 6x9s, they are NOT good for bass, in comparison to true subwoofers. I have seen 6x9 woofers in the past that could be installed in a small box, but those still would not be as good as a nice quality sub. Even a single 8" properly installed and amplified would be better, in my opinion. However, if you don't intend to add amp/amps to the system, rear full range speakers may be the way to go. It's your system, so you have to get what you will like.
As far as the installation in your truck, I have no experience with your model.
I was thinking 6x9s because they are the best bass you can get for a full range speaker. I would like to have a decent pair of tens with an amp but I don't want to give up the room. This is a work truck and I've already tossed all kinds of stuff in the back that I'm glad I didn't have to worry about dripping on/rubbing/hitting big speakers or an amp. If I want a big stereo I'll take out the back seat and do it right. I was more curious if there was stock panelling that was cut for speakers of any size, or if it was even an option on that truck.
If someone makes an 8" sub and an amp that could be fit completely under the front bench that might be an option though. Thanks for the help and keep it coming.
a 6x9 will be better for bass than anything 6 1/2" and smaller in a round speaker. I do agree that an 8"+ would be better for bass, but if you're just looking for something simple, get a set of 2 or 3-way 6x9's throw them in some boxes and be done with it. I'm not saying you'd win competitions for SQ or SPL, but that's not what you're going for i don't believe. You wouldn't be disappointed though!
