Angry it is YOUR fault

i just saw another one of those AD's (short for ADvertisement) that blame smoking on everybody else but the person lighting the cigarette. time for a littel reality check:
1 if you smoke 3 packs a day and die it is your fault.
2 if you eat big macs and and frenchfries 3 times a day and your fat it is your fault.
3 if you drink until you can't stand every night and you die of liver faliure its your fault.
what happened to self responsibilty. so now anything that we do to our self that is bad for us is not our fault. we will just blame the people that gave us access to that which is bad and blame them. so i guess no more free choice, we will just have to take everything that is bad for us and make off limits because its not OUR FAULT we do it. give me a break!

Re: it is YOUR fault

Thank you!! This is a large part of the downfall of our infrastructure in this country. Personal responsibility has been downplayed so much. It goes much deeper than you even touched. It starts there and goes to our schools, the courts, and (Heaven forbid!!) the Government. The liberal left that has largely taken over the way things are done here wants to "take care" of us in a utopian way so there is no more personal responsibility. Take care of us in a Marxist society, is more appropriate. God gave us free will and our Founding Fathers gave us a free nation. That has been downplayed and needs to be brought forward again befreo it is too late for us and our children.

Re: it is YOUR fault

Shakespeare had it right. From Henry VI:

"THE FIRST THING WE DO, LET'S KILL ALL THE BARD (LAWYERS)."

Hey, its not my fault. Those BigMacs are good. And why have only one drink. Just kidding.

If everyone took responsibility for their own actions, you would put half the Lawyers out of buisiness.

Before we kill al the lawyers, let's not forget that contingency fee representation is all any of us who aren't rich are going to get in a justified suit if we expect to have a chance at winning.
There is a fair amount of evidence that, despite sensational court verdicts publicised in order to sell newspapers, there is no monstrous wave of frivolous tort cases bogging the courts and driving up costs for "everything". Google for more info if req'd.
BTW, I smoke, and while if I die of same it is my fault. However, tobacco companies, much like asbestos companies, were hardly models of ethical marketing.

the answer to that is LIBERALS they are the ones who discovered through all their "education" and all that we are living in a blameless society. noone is responsible for anything they do because of the fact that somewhere intheir upbringing or in society is an excuse that allows the accused to be exonorated and left blameless. This works out great when youre the accused but when you become the victim of anything it plain stinks.
this country better change its attitude towards these kinds of things right quick

Wow! Eight responses before blame was placed on liberals - that is a new record and may indicate some evolution in thought processes
