i have a 99 f150 with a single cd player. My problem is that sometimes (almost everytime) i try to put a cd in, it will go in but their will be a bunch of clicking noises and then it will spit the cd out a little way then pull it back in. this goes on for about 30 seconds or so. but then sometimes it will go right in and work fine. Anyone ever experienced this problem???? if so, any suggestions????
OH YEAH! I HAVE THAT PROBLEM WITH MY 2000 X. FOR AWHILE IT WOULD TAKE THE CD FIRST THING IN THE MORNING WHEN IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE. THEN IT STOPPED TAKING ALL TOGETHER. NOW I'M JUST LOOKING TO REPLACE IT! I HAVE NOT BE ABLE TO FIND ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM OR KNOWS WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. VERY FRUSTRATING
I stored a radio in my garage for about a year out in the open. i should of put it in a box or plastic but any ways i installed it and after wipping the dust off it did this same things. I carefully opened it up and used air spray to blow out the dust then used some white lithium grease on all the mechanic peices i could reach with a toothpick and if fixed the problem. Hasn't happened since.
i too am having this problem, it just started the other day ona roadtrip to rapid city snowboarding. i have a 2000 f-150. im going to take it out tomarrow or friday this week im going to try the air grease thing. ill let you guys know what happens
Hi!-
I know, this probably doesn't apply, but I can relate a similar experience: My deck would have problems loading and sometimes unloading a CD. It turns out that a passenger had loaded a cd while I was out of the truck, then they played the radio. When I got back in I loaded a CD. The problems started soon after. It turns out the player was able to stack 2 cd's inside itself... sorta. So on a whim I hit the eject when I thought it was empty, and it tried to eject the first CD that was still in it. I had to dig out the first CD, but then it played normal after that. (yep, it sends shivers up my spine too.)
So, maybe...
