I wondered if anyone could tell me how to best remove the passenger side kick panel on my 2001 superduty. There is a plug I am looking for to make the clearance lights work. It looks like the kick panel continues under the door threshold. I don't want to remove any more than I have to. Thanks in advance.
If you pull back the carpet where your passengers feet would go, right at the firewall you will see the plug in question. if you do a search for member "hang10" he has a nice photo of this in his gallery.
Thank you for the info. I have found the upper plug connection just above the kick panel and I'm looking for the lower plug that actually connects to power. I ordered the clearance lights factory but they have never worked. I have deducted that they may never have been plugged in.

Do you have to remove the threshold to remove the kick panel?
Yes, I believe the front of the threshold or sill plate snaps in to a hole on the kick panel, kind of locking them all together , you might be able to pull the kick panel out enough to get in there, but the sill plate comes off real easy.

Sorry about all the "excessive" posting. I'm usually not that big of a wussy when it comes to tearing into something. I have already gotten more help on this thread than I got at my local Ford dealer. Today, if the temperature goes over 20 degrees, I'll go out and remove the panel, and with any luck, I'll find the lower plug and simply plug the harness in to make the clearance lights work. I just get a little apprehensive about pulling on something if I'm not sure wether it snaps off or unscrews. I didn't know if I should pry that little "circular" button off first or just pull the panel. If it wasn't so cold and wintery here, I probably wouldn't even be on the computer!
The plug thing is about 2 inches long and has the normal little feathers on it...for trim pins. they come out easy. pull the side panel out towards the bed it has steel clips..2 I think.
