need power for reverse camera in dash

Ok, so i've been searching and searching, and found all the info on the elusive black/pink wire, but there are about 10 of them inside the passenger kick panel, and no connectors for me to get a meter on to figure out which it is.

So that presents me with two questions:

1. Anyone got a pic to help me figure out which black/pink wire it is (again, looking at the passenger side kick panel)

2. Is there any chance that there's a switched power for reverse that comes on in my reverse sensor disable switch on the dash?

The camera monitor I had wired up had three wires, power, grnd, and reverse power wire. That third wire I hooked up in engine comp after finding black w/pink tracer from under truck. On drivers side there ate a few bundles that get attatched to fender before coming thru firewall. Pics in album.

Thanks for the pics. Is that the very highest (closest to the firewall) set of wires on the fender? I saw them today, but didn't' look terribly hard for the wire there.

Also, can you give me an idea how to get the Video cable (and this wire) back into the cab? I can see where all the wires come through the firewall, but I couldn't find any way to feed a new wire through it. It's not like most of the other cars I've worked on, where wires are fed through a rubber grommet that's easy to stretch for extra wires..

Yep, the wire bundles high up on the fender well. If you look directly to the firewall from the bundles you will see a diamond shape plastic pc there, about 3-4" long. That can pop off and can go thru, around there, about 1" hole under it, and some foam on inside. I use it for all my pass thru wires, gps stuff.
From the back you can also go in pass or drivers side there are large grommets under back carpet that you remove to get to body mount bolts. They are easy access and close to sides and you can go thru them and run video wire inside. I have pics in album ander stereo install. I ran my big power amp wire thru that way.

Another way you could wire it is to the reverse light power. It only comes on when you put the gear in R.

Jh; the black/w/pink tracer that I hooked to under hood is exactly that. Power from reverse light circuit to power on when shift lever in R, and when you draw power from key on at same time you can still turn on monitor manually to add other inputs if so desired. 1)ground 2)black pink tracer. 3) key on power from fuse panel, customer access. I just don't remember that fuse # off hand.

This is what I did, no issues. Tapped into the wiring behind the tail light, with heat-shrink connector, used to power the camera itself. Inside the cab I wired to the 12v source/cig lighter.

Apparently your unit is smarter than mine. I tried to wire into the 12v source but it makes the unit try to go to the backup camera by default. Apparently mine HAS to be wired to power that's only switched when in reverse. I might just add a switch for it rather than messing with finding a reverse wire, because I'll only use it when hooking up to a trailer and/or when pulling a trailer, so it'd be nice to be able to override the stereo system to make it work when I want.
