Have any of you folks figured out what the function is of the four horizontal slots cut in to the dash just to the right of the steering wheel column? I searched this website and found nothing.
On my truck, the slots are about an inch long and maybe an eighth of an inch wide each and are in an upside-down "L" shaped section of the dash.
>Pat (a guy without enough imagination to come up with a catchy "handle")
No dont coverit with your sunglasses heck man everyone knows that Ford in their strive to make the older super duty owners more comfortable they did a study and found that if theirs warm air blowing toward the right knee it helps take away the soreness that often comes from long trips. So dont cover it enjoy it. And thats my story and iam sticking to it.Take care and happy travels
The "slots" appeared late in the 2001 model year. If you have a build date early in the 2001 model year (like I do) you won't have the slots. They are for the climate control in the Ex.

That probably explains it. My '01 was built in February 2001.
Glad to hear that, that way I don't have to tear
my dash apart to find them.lol

Click on user menu. Then click on profile. You'll see the space for an AVATAR image. I don't know if it'll work but you can put the THUMBNAIL address for a picture that you have in your gallery in there.OR you can upload a picture that is already a thumbnail into your gallery and link it from there. You can go to www.fookes.com and download a free and easy-to-use thumbnail maker.
You can also put the address of any image that like provided that it is within the required size requirements.
Also, to help keep things downloading fast for our dial-up users I would suggest that you only put thumbnail (read:small) images into your signature.
