Did you reset the computer? If not, disconnect the Neg battery cable with the headlight switch turned on and leave it disconnected for about 30 minutes. Reconnect it and see if that worked. Don't forget to turn the headlight switch off after you reconnect it.
Thx, Y2K. I tried to reset it, but I disconnected the pos from both batteries, not the neg. The headlight trick is a new one on me. Is that to discharge or dissipate any stored energy in in the the computer and/or other circuits?

That seems to be the consensus here on the board. I think disconnecting the POS would have the same effect though.
My only ? is what other symptoms were you having that pointed to the rear diff sensor being the problems.
these all go hand in hand
1)overdrive cancel light flashing
2)abs light on
3)speedo working erattic or jumping
4) harsh shifts from the tranny
My ABS light came on the other day when coming home from fishing. It was snowing like crazy and then turned to rain/slush. The ABS light would go out then back on for the entire trip. Next day it went out and has yet to come back on since. Moisture??????
