Is this an internet explorere problem, or something else?
Here is the problem I am having: when I open up a webpage, i can't close it with the X in the upper right hand corner like i am supposed to...it just beeps at me, and does nothing. i have to hit control,alternate, and delete. Then task manager opens and says the program is not responding. This is for EVERY web page I open, not just certain ones. I have done a virus scan, nothing turned up. Any ideas? please put it in terms where someone computer challenged can understand it

Addware or spyware on the system. Clean your system up then use a good browser like Mozilla or Opera instead of that POS Microsoft IE.
You can find adware or spyware scanners on the web. Ad-aware is a good one.

Sound like you have a glitch in IE.
Check www.microsoft.com and see if there is a fix-it pack for it.

I think it was ad-ware...I downloaded it and ran it and all seems to be working well now thanks for the help...Ben

when you press control alt delete are there any other programs running that you dont recognize? do you have kazaa or a file sharing program on your computer? It sounds like the computer is busy doing something when your trying to close the page.
