Just yanking your chain fast freddie. i dont know where you heard or read this but my filter clearly reads Made in the USA on the side of it. We could haggle all day long about buying products made in the USA or another country. If it was made in France that would not change my mind about using them. Heck the computer I'm on right now is a Dell comp. that says made in China. Just kinda hard to buy every day products that says Made in the USA on everything. Wish we all could but we cant. Later
Cutter, I ordered new filters for a deisel air compressor we have at work and was unable to get the Baldwin filters that were being replaced. The supply house crossed the Baldwin number over to Fleetguard and asked me if those would be ok. I said sure and they shipped them to me. I installed them Friday. Sticker on the end of the filter says plain as day "Made in France". Every man has to do what he feels is right. I will not purposly support their economy by purchasing their products when I have a choice. Just MHO.
Freddie, I can respect that decision. Maybe the filters for air compressors are made in France but the filters I put on my powerstroke are made in the USA. I can send you a pic of the filter with bold letters on the side, not on the bottom that say made in the USA. Check it out, call a trucking parts house an ask for a powerstroke filter part #LF3630 which is for a 2001 model, should be the same for several year models, ask them where they r made. Later, FREEDOM OF CHOICE.
I use the Fleet Gaurd Stratapore #3974 and it says made in USA on the side also. It is suppose to filter lower microns than most other filters. Fleet Gaurd has just came out with a new Venturi filter that is supposed to work simular to a by pass filter system. Their filters may cost more but I think they're worth it. JMO
Ahem! I believe the filter debate is this ... the difference in the filters is the media that is put into the different filters. Something, has to be different. Like FORD and GM sellig the same size cars OR Wal-Mart selling Cola flavored pop to taste like Coca Cola - it may be made by the same plant but there is something different with the recipe AND speaking of recipe, its time for some brew. Like Paul Harvey would say .... Good Day !
