I have a 2000 F-350 CC 4X4, long wheel base duallie with a 4.30 rear end. I am lucky to get 9 around town and i consistently get 12 highway. I am running stock tires, but I'm sure my duallie and 4.30's drag my mileage down a little. For all you guys getting 18mpg..Profanity Removed. With todays gas prices I can only dream of that
just wondering, does speed vs economy factor in here? i averaged about 7.5 mpg in my 86 f350 crew cab dually (460/auto)bringing it back from Texas to Florida(no trailer). But i set the cruise control at 75 mph most of the way..if id done say 60 mph, would i see any noticable difference or improvemnt? curious if theres a sweet spot i need to find..didnt really see much a difference with the a/c on or off either, i found that odd..
Id be overjoyed if i got even 10 mpg..
Yes!! For the V10 the "sweet" spot seems to be around 1800-2000. That's around 65-68mph with 3.73's. Go above and mileage drops quite noticeably. (At least for me anyhow...)
Cranking your tire pressure up on a long highway trip can help a bit too.
I do a mix of Highway and City driving and I by no means brice slow 70-80mph. I consistantly get real close to 13 mpg without fail, I think it has gone up a little since the weather got warmer and The Indipent Republic of Maryland lets stations pump regular gas instead of the "oxyginated winter gas"
Man I love that grill.
I would like to have one of them. Would you email me the info on that "sharp looking grill"?

I picked up my 2002 CC on Sept 9 and have 32,000 miles on it now. The mileage averages about 13.5 and the best was around 16. Lots of city/idling gets me down to 11.5.
Cruise control, right hand lane and steady acceleration all help. I carry about 200-250 lbs. in rear and have a cab-height cap on the rear. Haven't done anything to stock engine or exhaust (been too busy driving).
