Crew or Super Cab?
Crew or Super Cab?
Ya'll helped me decide on engine size. Now I need help on figuring out cab size, either Crew or Super cab.
I have drove both and like both. I have 2 little boys to haul around with me ages 4 & 8 and the Supercab will be fine for them now. But years down the road a Crew Cab would be more accomadating as they get bigger. I hardly ever carry any adults with me but when I did I know everybody would rather ride in a crew cab. A supercab would be easier to park everyday at work.
And I wonder where I would mount mu gun rack?
Thanks again

Crew cab is the only way to go.
I've owned both S/C and C/C, my kids are now 7 and 11 and the crew cab is, way, the best. Even handy when (uggh) shopping and you want to keep stuff secure, especially with the remote locks. I haul a truck camper and don't what to be bothered with tool boxes or other stuff in or on the box, the back seat holds lots of stuff.
As for your fire sticks, there is plenty of room behind the back seat for a gun rack.
Parking is a little tricky, especially since they make some parking stalls big enough for a grocery cart, but with pratice you can park almost any where those puddle jumpers park. And if there isn't room you can always make more

Try sitting in the back of a supercab yourself and that ought to cure you of any thoughts about ever buying a supercab!!
It looks like you're a hunter from the gun reference. Try having even you're young ones sit in the back of a supercab with insulated winter hunting clothes on.You'll be feeling their knees pushing you in the back which will irritate you in no time.
I sold my 99 sd crew cab short bed a few weeks ago and just ordered a 2002 f350 crew cab long bed .The crew cab is the only way to go with kids regardless of age .If you do alot of picking up and dropping off with your kids you'll also appreciate the fact that you dont have to open your door or the passenger door to open one of the supercab doors.
A supercab amounts to nothing more than lockable storage.

Crew or Super Cab?
I have no kids, but given the opportunity I traded my Supercab for a Crew cab. Without a doubt, the crew cab is much better.

Lets see, that's 6 votes (make that 7) for the crew cab and 0 for the super cab. Remember the crew cab is only 14 inches longer and a whole lot more practical. It's odd that no one talked up the super cabs when it seems that they outnumber the crew cabs that I see on the road. May they don't have kids. By the way, it seems to me that the super cabs have some wind noise where the B pillar is on a crew cab. What's your engine pick?

I was afraid the 5.4 wouldn't have enough punch for me, so I decided on the V-10. It looks like the Crew Cab gets all the votes. And it would make more since for my needs. Though 95% of the time I drive alone. Still thinking.

Crew Cab is the way to go if you have Kids!
I have owned supercabs in the past and they worked fine for just 2 of us,But when my daughter came along it was getting cramped,Now I would own nothing but a CC,Plenty of room if you want to take other people with you and really isnt that hard to park.PLUS:I am sure the resale value is higher! WIN-WIN situation! V-10 Is a good choice to power the truck.

Crew or Super Cab?
I currently have a SC, but just prior I had the c/c. I have two kids ages 5 & 6. I loved my crewcab, and the resale was outstanding, but I primarily drive alone and just wanted a little "sleeker" vehicle. The back seat in either was/is a big storage area for me. If it is just quick runs that the kids will be with you, then the s/c may be more convenient. It isn't much shorter than the C/C but it does feel much different, IMO. Anyway, that's my story.

A Crew Cab short box is pretty darn close to the same length as a Super Cab long box. Decide where you need the space. I chose the C/C for convenience. It's the only vehicle I have, so whether I'm going hunting, fishing, dirt biking, or golfing, if there's more than two adults the C/C was the only way to go. That's an option I don't regret for one second. I see more and more crews and fewer SC's where I live, so I think resale should be strong too. Just look at the number of half tons and even 1/4 tons that are coming with 4 REAL doors now.
I never really cared for the supercab door system, as soon as you open the rear doors you're caught between the two, constantly sidesteppin one or the other to get at stuff or close a door.
In less than a week you'll be able to get around in your C/C anywhere you drove your previous truck.
Just my $.02
