You guys think warm thoughts for me over the next 4 hours.
I'm having custom lasik performed for vision correction at about 2:00pm central time. This is the latest and greatest, and the success statistics are very encouraging. But, when you read all the lawyer talk in the consent agreement, it's enough to make even me nervous.
Hopefully, I'll be surfing FTE in the very near future with nothing between my eyes and the monitor :-)
BTW, do you guys know anthyiing about the new IRS Tax deduction for this procedure? Anything helps, this custom procedure costs about $5k.
You will love it! I had it done 4 yrs ago, with a "Canadian laser" and it only cost $998 for both eyes with lifetime upgrades.
It was an introductory thing and the only laser available was from Canada, therefore the reduced rate.
I could see the moment I sat up in the chair. The whole procedure only took about 2 minutes and the actual laser time was less than 30 sec.
If you are thinking about it--do it! Don't wait! This is the time of year to do it too-no dust.
Things went perfect according to the doctor. Things are still a bit bluury, but i was under the laser leass than 45 minutes ago.
There is very little discomfort, accept whn I here about the prices you guys paid. BUt, I told myslef I was going to the best for this procedure. No reason to save bucks here.
I'm off for a nap. Afterwhich, they claim things will look pretty good. By my checkup tomorrow morning, they anticipate I'll be at 20/20 or better.
Stay tuned for more details.
Here is the Doctor and procedure I chose, based on their having the latest and greatest and their success rates.
You may experience some nite vision issues like halos for a few months but that's all I had issues with. The vision was better at once but even better after a nap and even greater the next day.
I still reach for my glasses for quite a while.
