bronco problems
Things I have done so far- replaced ignition module, dist. pick up, cap rotor, wires & plugs. Replaced fuel pump, filter ,gas tank and lines.
Can a carb. cause these problems? Thats the next thing I'm going to try! I don't think it is vapor locking cuz it does not overheat. Could it be happening anyhow? Is this a problem with these motors?
Any help would be appreciated before I run this thing over a cliff!
Thanks Mike
Yes, a carb can cause these problems. Is the choke working properly?
Next time it dies, check for fuel. With engine OFF - look down carb and move throttle. You should see two squirts of fuel into the venturis. If no squirts, then you have a fuel problem.
Also check for spark at coil and plugs.
Let us know what you find. Take it one step at a time...

Forgot to mention that I also replaced the coil and that I have spark at the plugs when it shuts off. Also when it shuts off if I turn the motor over fuel squirts out of the inlet hose. Not sure if the accelerator pump shoots fuel or not.
The choke works sometimes. Could it be any of the old emission garbage not functioning properly or a vacuum leak. Seems if it was that it would not run "OK" for awhile before shutting off? I'm going to replace the carb next and keep my fingers crossed!
Thanks Mike
