For starters, remove the fear from you mind, in naming the dealerships about whom you are talking. Expressing concerns, carry less weight, if not complete.
Just a Thought..........on.............My Perceptions........
I want you to check out all the threads I have posted concerning our 03 350 dually. We have had 12 injectors replaced. Turbo been replaced, egr, map sensor, just a host of problems. We also use our truck for our business and travel out of state to do our business. We also have been out of town and have had to have our truck towed.
We have not been compensated once for what we have been put out of pocket. Why, I don't know but our truck just loves to break down on a Thursday or Friday. We have a list of out of pocket expenses and loss of wages due to our break downs. We have been offered a small car a few times when my husband insisted that he have transportation to leave the ford dealership after sitting there for hours not knowing if they could fix it or not. We have contacted an attorney in our great state of Louisiana. We were told that they usually have to sue Ford to resolve the issue. We were told to list and bring in all of our out of pocket expenses, lost wages, receipts for all equipment added to our truck and to bring in all paperwork that listed the work done on our truck. I am worried about reselling or trade in value if we keep the truck because of all the stuff that has been done to our truck. I am worried about what kind of expense we may be looking at after the 100,000 mile warranty goes out. Our truck didn't start showing itself until it was over 20,000 miles and has been a major headache ever since. Even though we have had this problem, I still love the truck and hate to get rid of it. I wish the ford co would replace the motor.
You may HAVE to go DSB first to get the most out of your lemon law. It's odd but, at least here in MN, you actually have a tougher time with LL if you don't do the DSB process first. Even if the DSB finds in your favor, which I'd guess they would, you can reject it and use it as evidence for you LL hearing. I'm guessing you'll need to get an attorney and do the LL to get all that you deserve in the end but work the process to your full advantage.
Maryfrank, with all the problems you have had with this vehicle, have you sat down with the service manager and general manager and tell them you want a buyback or a tradeup? Seems they would be willing to do something before it gets to a DSB or LL. If you don't get anywhere with them call Ford Customer Assistance. There is a whole process that you should go through before DSB or lemon law. It's in your owner manuals. I have gotten a lot out of the service manager where I take mine for service. It pays to get the service manager on your side.
