Angry What taking ford so long

I ordered a Wedgewood Blue Lariat supercrew with black leather 14 weeks ago and still do not have a delivery date. My local ford place said the delay was because of the chrome stepbars so we deleted them 7 weeks ago. Now they still can't tell me whats taking so long. I've called ford twice and they keep pushing me back to the dealership. Does anybody know where to call Ford HQ so I can get past the customer 1-800 number.

THreaten to cancel the order if you don't have an answer within two hours.

That'll get their attention. DO IT if they don't have an answer.

Sometimes you have to distance yourself from the emotion of a new vehicle, and take drastic action.

You can order one any day, anywhere. If the dealer can't get an answer. maybe he just doesn't give a $%^&. He cared enough to take your deposit.

several dealers told me there are delivery (long delivery) problems with the chrome bars. So that piece of info sounds legit.

the salesperson i use is a good friend of the family and they can't find out anything the truck was scheulded 3 weeks ago but with no date. i've been in the salesmanager's office and we pulled it up on his computer the delay is at the factory. my local dealership is trying to find out but they keep getting the run around to. some body at ford needs to explain why its taking so long. my '02 screw lariat has 35.500 miles on it and i'm told if it goes over on warrenty i'll lose value. i've already lost $1200.00 on trade in value for having to wait so long and a % in interest. who can i call at ford to get things rolling. does anybody have bill fords e-mail address?

qtrhse, Cry BS on losing "value" about going past the 36,000 warranty. Suppose Ii buy that truck from you with 400 miles left on factory warranty, then basically i assign nearly zero value to the warranty. Meaning there are just 400 miles left so your warranty already has nearly zero value. You lost $1,200 in value because "you" (you or was it the dealer) waited too long, and from your "%" comment it sounds like the dealer is tightening the screws on what interest rate they will give you. do these kind of "deals" sound like a good thing? i would never talk to that dealer again. Run to a new dealer and get a completely new deal assessment. But first, spend a weekend surfing the internet to learn about what constitutes a good deal. Secondly, reconsider the intentions of that "good friend". Simply put, cancel the deal and go to another dealer. IMO.

Taking a long time

Loaded SCrew L. I ordered first week of November.

Told it was built on Dec. 12th. Only to find out it was not mid January. All trucks with the DVD system got pulled, and the chrome step bars where an issue as well.

Scheduled to be built the week of Feb. 16th last I heard.

You are not alone....

i'm getting a loaded screw lariat the only thing it does'nt have is heated seats , dvd, and moonroof for 31,000. which i think is a stellar price we deleted the chrome stepbars many weeks ago. still nothing from ford and the interest thing is what ford changed on me i saw the incentitive sheet. the reason that i lost 1200.00 in value is because ford has taken 14 weeks and still no truck i ordered it on 10/21/03 and my truck went from 32000 miles to 35,500 miles.

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here....but I think my previous post is still valid...

Sometimes you have to distance yourself from the emotion of a new vehicle, and take drastic action.

If this was ANY other product other than a car....you'da told 'em what to do with that vehicle when it arrives by now.

Interestingly enough, a car (aside from a house) is THE most expensive product 90+% of us will ever buy.

do YOURSELF a favor and just call to cancel the order and DEMAND your deposit back.

You can re-order the next day.

I used to work at ford. TRUST me, they DON"T CARE about your truck.....they'll just string you along until THEY are good and ready to built it.

This is the information age. SHAME ON THEM, for not being able to communicate with you on what is delaying things.

Ford STILL hasn't learned that simple communication is what most of us need to remain calm and feel like a valued customer.

Sorry...just calling it like I see it.

You're caught up in the emotion of a new car, and you're letting them get the best of you (with $30k+ thrown in for good measure)

btw.....

the regional rep can't help a whole lot.

his job description is MORE "after sales" support than "pre sales" support.

I know some of the pain that some are feeling. I ordered a F-150 Heritage 4x4 XLT on December 1st and I was told today that I might get some information on a build date by the 9th or 10th of February.

I work for the military overseas and not only have to wait for it to be built, but also have to wait 30 to 90 days after completetion to reach me.

I have heard somewhere (do not know if I dreamt it or read it) that Ford may stop producing the Heritage sometime during this production year. Is this true?

Does anyone have an idea why Ford seems to be so far behind?

I have waited over 18 years to own a truck and cannotwait till I get this thing. This waiting is driving me nuts.

Just wanted to ask a couple things and maybe vent a little.

I ordered 3 weeks ago, called my dealer today, largest volume dealer in Missouri so they have some pull.

He said that Ford will not schedule S-Crew Builds right now for some reason, at least for next couple of weeks.

Also said they had been limited to 30% S-Crews.

Also said still a problem with Tubular Running boards, but they can get them through parts so he has been deleting them offf the orders and just adding them when they come in.

Also possible hold up again on vehicles with DVD systems due to shortage.

He was going to call his Ford contact and give me an update but for sure it won't be built in next few weeks.

I ordered a 02 Explorer and 03 Expedtion and it took 4 weeks to get them. Wish it was same for these.
