Ordered my Screw on January 10th. It got put on the schedule January 16th for a February 9 build. Called my dealer today to make sure that was still valid since I have read about all of these delays due to chrome running boards, blazing yellow paint color, super crews, etc. He called back ten minutes later and said it is already on the production line and should be ready to ship on Friday. Take it for what its worth. Maybe I am just lucky with this one.
I'm feeling lucky now after reading sprintcarcrazy's post. I ordered my Lariat Screw on Jan 5th and according to a vin ck (thanks again Neil) it was built this past Monday Feb 2nd. It does have the bright tubular running boards. Dealers get allocation based on how many of a particular model they've sold. But if they have a bunch of that model in inventory then their allocation for that model may get bumped. In my case, I ordered from the largest dealer in Mississippi and at the time he had completely sold out of Lariat Screws so my order went right to the top of the Ford pick list. If I had ordered from a dealer that had 20 in stock but I wanted something different, then my chances of a quick build would not have been as good.
Good point Trux4me, There was only one FX4 left on my dealer's lot. It isn't an enormous dealership, but that had to help, and they had only had one blazing yellow FX4 there since the 2004s had started being produced.
my truck is on the way finally should have it within the next 2 days somebody must have lit a fire under ford because alot of the people waiting on supercrews are getting them
Now I am envious! Granted you ordered yours 2 1/2 months before me so you are more than worthy of receiving your truck first. But I had a VIN about 12 days before you and I don't have a ship date yet. I am beginning to wonder if it was actually built last week like me dealer said. Time to burn up the phone lines...
Pretty quick reply from my dealer - "still in production". If I am to believe him when he says it started on Tuesday, February 3rd, should it still be under construction five full working days later?
Thanks qtrhrse. Not sure if that could mean my truck is almost 11,000 behind yours in order of building, but it gives me some sort of frame of reference!
Hey guys - I just talked to my dealer and they have the invoice and the truck is supposed to be here Friday!! I ordered it Jan. 5. and it was built and shipped on Feb. 2. My truck was also built in KC and the seq.# is C29159 If it does get here Friday that will be almost exactly 6 weeks, just as they said when I ordered it. I think the fact that I didn't get the two-tone paint or DVD made the difference. I was worried about the tubular running boards because they seem to have been a problem for a while, and are again now I've heard, but somehow mine got built!! Good luck to you guys. Now we can start with the add-ons.
my truck was built on feb 2nd and supposed to be shipped on feb 3rd and delivered on feb 11th found out yesterday its still sitting on the train yard in kansas city i'm ready to pull my hair out, what do you think ford would do if i sent in my payments like that?
