A while back there was a post containing a link to information on clutch bushing replacement. I cannot find it seeing that it was in a link not the title or text. Does anyone remember where it was. Or, anyone with info on adjusting the misaligned linkages and replacing the bushing? There are a couple of us here struggling ti "git it in gear"
im assuming you mean on the zf 5 speed, right? and what bushing are you talking about? I did a clutch r/r on my 92 and might be able to give you some info.
Thanks! I've got the 5 speed. I dont know the model number. But, the trouble is that there is a bushing I'm told at the master cylynder that wears out quickly. I have the nastiest time getting into first or reverse. Quadzilla posted a document with a link that described it exactly and ststed that the cause was a misalignment of the linkage.
I didnt do the replacement the last time the bushing was replaced so.. I'm sorry I'm still in the dark about its whereabouts. If it stops raining I'll crawl under it this weekend.
Thanks for your reply.
oh, the master cylinder. Hmmm. On that truck, i never had problems with the master cylinder. Dont know if ill be much help. Sorry. Try doing more searches. Theres bound to be something out there. Probably on this site, but if its not, search everywhere using google. Youll probably find info and also start your next project on your truck, whatever it might be
Thanks for the link. There sure is alot of info in there. I replaced the bushing yesterday and its better, for now. I believe that I'll be replacing it and the clutch pedal "male" part soon. It was quite worn. Btw The new and improver Ford part looks the same as the one I took out, it even has the same part number as in the link. It does however cost $12.49. Therein lies the improvement I think.
