Super chip

I just bought an F-250 diesel and want to have it chipped correctly. 90% of my driving is on the highway and the rest is around town, I don't pull anything. I got the diesel because I will drive 25K to 50K mikes a year. Who is better, Diablo, Superchip, or Hypertech and why?

Super D, Welcome to FTE!

Although I have no doubt that your question will be answered in this forum, you may also want to post this in the Computer Chip forum [link:www.ford-trucks.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=list&forum=chips&conf=DCConfID1|her e].

We also have a diesel forum that can help you get very specific advice.

Good luck to you in your search for knowledge!

For my money the superchip microtuner is the way to go it alows you two diffrent settings to choose from and its easy to install and to remove Had the chance awhile back to try a friends microtuner and brother it really brings the truck alive. And i must also warn you that it seems that the super duty fourm has turned anti power stroke so maybe it might be safer to go to the deisel forum. For more advice about your chip question.Take care and happy travels.

Now why in the world would say something like that?!?!

There is NOBODY here that uses the Super/Heavy Duty forum that is anti-PSD as you suggest. Just because you can't see through the jokes and friendly ribbing doesn't mean you should encourage new users to do the same.

>their was a newbe that asked the question about the old
>dreaded issues of gas or deisel and you locked it out

Yes I did. I, like many others, kinda get tired of hearing the same old worn out, useless debate. It inevitably turns into a free-for-all bashing and has no place here. There are Yahoo newsgroups for that. Plus the topic has been beat to death. Really.

>Heck I thought this was a open super duty fourm...

Because I locked a thread, you would think differently?

>...and you could reponded if you choose to or just move on to other post.

You still can, just not to that particular thread. You should know that he private messaged me and told me that he found a few old topics on the subject. He, and you, are more than free to comment on those. Due to the fact that it has been covered so many times, starting a new thread for this same topic is damned useless.

>I am not looking to make any one mad

You didn't make me mad. Nor did the new guys post. I hope you can see my side of it. Locking topic has a negative connentation to it but in this instance it wasn't really served as punishment for asking the question. It shouldn't be viewed as an evil, power hungy, diesel hating moderator decision. You should also know that if he had entitled it GAS vs. DIESEL and want to know the pros of gas over diesel, I would have locked it too. So it wasn't an anti-PSD decision. You insinuation that it was it bit myopic of you.

>...because i enjoy the site very much and dont have the time for all that nonscencse for what its worth take care and happy travels.

And I enjoy this site very much too. I hope that you will stay around and if you still disagree with my actions then to let me know via e-mail or private message.

Super D:

You will probably be happy to find out that you have more choices in chips/programmers than us V10ers.

It seems that they are just getting around to anything other than a basic Chip (like Diablo or SuperChip) for the V10. With the Diesel, however, you can get a HyperTech Power Programmer a SuperChip Flip-Chip (2 settings) and other cool choices that I just dream about!

(how's that for helping heal, Monsta!)

geeez...

This forum is sounding like Ford-Diesel.com!

I like having a gas-burning V-8! Doesn't mean I don't like PSDs though! Too bad that all too often, the PSD'ers don't respect the fact that ANY SuperDuty is one bad-*** truck!

Not to worry. It is/was just a misunderstanding about the intent behind closing a gas vs diesel post before the "debate" could get started. We really do like both fuel-burners here.

BTW, glad to see you posting & sharing your knowledge with everyone.

I kinda figured that you would notice that I have a V10! I only mentioned the extra chip choices because I wish that the V10 had as many choices as the Diesel. I've never even owned a Diesel, but most of my friends do (and love them).

everyone take a chill!

Black Rhino: My post was just a light-hearted jab at the fact that F-D.com (where I also am a member) can get a bit heated at times over the gas vs diesel issue, one reason I like it here. I wasn't directing my message to any one person.. or any one fuel. I just find it amusing over there on F-D.com how far people go at times over something that to me is realtively insignificant. (aside from engine specific discussions.)

No harm, no foul?
