I started collecting license plates, specializing in Massachusetts back in 2002. I now have over 500 and growing. Plates are cheap at the boneyards, and ebay. My garage walls are completley covered, and I have boxes of them waiting for more wall space.

Flamingos. Someone once gave me 2 plastic lawn flamingos as a joke, and I made the mistake of putting them out in the yard. From that point on, everyone has assumed I collect flamingos! And where do folks from Western New York vacation every winter? And what does that tropical state offer in the form of cheap souvenirs?
I now have over ONE HUNDRED lawn flamingos (not all out on the yard at one time, of course). The good part is anyone that crosses me winds up with them on THEIR lawn for a weekend if they're not careful!

Home improvement tools. I "talk" the wife into letting me get a new tool for a new job all the time. So far, I have a 10" compound miter saw, a B&D 7 1/4" circular, a B&D jigsaw, and an Arrow electric 1" brad nailer. Just got a plumbing torch the other weekend too. Next on the list is a sawzall, then maybe a small compressor and 2" nail gun. Then, one of those huge 18 or 24 volt cordless tool kits.
