It would be hard and probably not worth the hassle to trace the IP address- would have to get a court order....

Could be done- but would it?

Uh, I don't think they can do that. They may be able to investigate, but if nothing has been done yet, the epa can't do anything about something that hasn't been done.

The guy said he wanted help to do his exhaust legal, and he said his cats weren't an issue, so that to me means he doesn't need cats to be legal. Hence, epa can't do anything.

Well, for one, screw the EPA. Although they do some good, I think they just like harasasing(SP) people. Let's say they come after me. My truck is fully compliant-but was not when I bought it. No cats and stuff. I register my truck to my farm in a county that has no emissions checks etc. and the EPA can go sniff someone elses tail Just anothe government acency gone bad. So EPA guy, we can get around you. The emission loopholes are the size of Mars.

i believe the epa has the right intentions, but they take things to extremes and in turn we lose freedoms over it. this is america. not one of them taliban lead countries.

i salute the epa with one finger, and its not my thumb.

Note the signature line - environment with a capital 'E'. Most likely an over zealous enviro-wacky.

Its more likely that the guy is part of ELF, or some other environmental terrorist.

I wouldn't worry too much, just because he can get your IP, doesn't mean that he can find out where you live or anything like that, remeber that privacay act? Oh, yeah, got you good ya ....

that guy is smoking somethin. theres a lot of counties that dont even have inspections and definately dont have emissions testing. i say we all take our mufflers and cats off and drive around this dudes house with the pedal to the floor.

hell tracing an ip address is easy, big deal. the guy is pulling your leg, he is someone on here who saw the post and signed on with a new name just to mess you up. i dont have cats either trace me bring it on i am waiting lol. so what ya going to do ? nothing thats what. so knock it off before someone gets upset. and installs cats where they need not be, the best cat is one still in the box where it belongs, nothing but a horsepower stealer

He was sure'nuff bluffing. All hot air. I can't see how anybody in their right mind would want to mess with things as trivial and as frivilous as that.

Besides, until he starts paying for our gas, he doesn't have the right to say a damn thing about how we have our trucks.
