Try spraying the door lock with WD-40. Do a search for your problem on this site. Common problem with Rangers. Lots of good information on how to solve this.
Same problem others have reported. 98 Ranger Door Ajar light comes on when making turns. Have tried WD-40. Hasn't worked yet. Is it possible to just disconnect the light and chime? I looked in the book for the fuse, couldn't find it. Is there one fuse which would control this chime and light without disabling something else?

Hi guys I'm new here. I have a 1999 Ranger and have had this same problem. It would eventually go off while after having it move. Well came out to my car and the light stayed on and I pulled the fues and voila it turned off. Put it back in for next day's use and it never turned on again. Took it in for service and they said that it needs a GEM module. Anyone know what this is. I also have no 4 wheel drive either and they say they need something else to replace. All be told it will cost me about $900.00
