It's Finally Here!!!!

The dealer called last night...the truck is in!!!!

I'm going after work tomorrow to pick it up..I figured I'd
ask you experts if there is anything that I should look for
or do tomorrow at the dealership before I bring her home???
Questions...
I took the 0.9 financing rather than the $1000 rebate (I missed
0% by 4 days)...I figure that I'll use their money rather than
mine. Now..last month Ford announced partnership with
the AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association)..and with that Ford
will provide a 500.00 purchase incentive for AQHA members.
So I'm thinking that the 500.00 should come off the bottom line tomorrow in the finance office...but I'm concerned that I will
lose the 0.9 interest rate if I take the 500.00 incentive. Your
thoughts?

Ok..now the good stuff..when can I wax this baby?..is there a "curing" time for paint these days?

Should I do the 1st oil change at 500 mi...like the old days? or
just follow the 3 mo. or 3000 mi. rule?

I'm so excited that I know I'm missing something..whatever you
can think to share, plez don't hesitate!!!!

Lisa

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Jun-02 AT 12:23 PM (EST)]The AQHA rebate is compatible with the low rates.

Change your oil at 3000 miles. You actually want some friction for the first couple thousand miles.

You can wax your truck as soon as you feel the need to do so.

Congrats.

It's Finally Here!!!!

Ordered on 4/20..dealer called on 4/29 with a build week of 5/27..
hang in there..It seemed like forever..but based on my experience
you should only have 2 weeks to go...I'm SO tempted to go to the
dealer tonite to look at her..but then I'll want to take her home...
and I want the alarm on her before I take her home...so I won't
tempt myself...

It's Finally Here!!!!

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Jun-02 AT 03:30 PM (EST)]I'm waiting for mine too. It's a replacement truck. The original one had to have the engine replaced, transmission replaced, power steering pump replaced, hood repainted, and for some reason the steering damper was missing so after 8 months of complaining and my truck constantly being in the shop (34 days total in 5 months) Ford decided to regain my loyalty to their products by giving me a new truck. It was ordered on 4/25/02 and a delivery date of 6/17/02. The waiting is killing me. I just want my new truck and put the whole ordeal of the first one behind me. Oh yeah vinny8 where are you from? I guess where you live in relation to the truck plant dictates how long delivery takes.

Good Luck

Chuck

I changed mine at 1000mi.I figured it couldn't hurt to change it early the first time.I used the "recommended" Motorcraft 5w-20w oil but I may switch next time.
Once again,Congratulations .

Sounds great! You can wax it any time. Make sure you walk around the truck and check everyting out before you accept it. Could save some hassles later. My first oil change was at 3,000 .
Enjoy the new ride!
