Milwaukee Iron was around before everyone got into the scene of custom bikes. The show is nothing but a copy of american chopper minus dad being pissed at sonny. The funny part of the whole deal is how either can make bikes day in and day out and not remember to get their ducks in a row. Maybe both should hire someone that can keep a schedule. Personally, I would fire that worthless guy on southern chopper who kept puking. but, then again his boss wasn't a very spiffy dude either. That bike was one of the worst customs I have seen in my life (old SChool) or lack of school. Probably watch something else next time although. Atleast I didn't have to watch some reality dating show- thank god.

i think the young guy is a good guy, he is just learning like cody did and mikey on american choppers, but all in all the show is a total copy of OCC, maybe it will drift a little away from it, can only wait and see, and i agree with just about everyone, the handle bars were pug ugly and the exhaust well can you say FUGLY, but hey to each his own and it is his money, but if they keep building bikes like that i think i will stick with monster garage and american chopper, dont even get me started on american hotrod
Originally posted by Andysutt The show I thought was poorly laid out... they all seemed dumb in a sense, except the old guy.
HAHAHA you noticed that too huh? I think they wanted them to look as backwoods redneck as possible. Also why Southern when they are truly from the eastern area of the U.S.?
I didn't care for the pipes going straight up, but the twist they put in coming out of the engine was pretty neat.
As for not thinking of Lynchburg, VA as southern, wellll... it is just up the road from Danville, and if you are a real southern history type, you know the significance of that town.. it was the last capitol of the Confederacy. Prior to the fall it was in Richmond, farther North and East of Lynchburg.
these guys are buddies with occ. pauly uses some of their stuff on his bikes. and when they were at the superdome? with the huge rig that didn't fit, milwaukee iron was next to them, an pauly said "oh the're our boys"...
i liked some of the other really old skool bikes they had sittin around more than the one they built for the show. dude with the beard can work some metal, tho.
The only problem with occ as said before is most of their stuff comes from somewhere else. They are basicly an assembly shop. Granted they do come up with some good themes but what do they really do themselves except get me to laugh at their dysfunctional ways.
Southern was cool because they built most of their stuff with their own hands, nice to see it done the "old school" way opposed to seeing it stamped out by a machine. I agree they need to get the show together a bit but it was just the beginning....hopefully
i got to give credit out to paul sr and the shops new guys that built the POW MIA bike, they actually fabed alot of stuff like the tank they redid and some other stuff, i was glad they didnt preorder the tank like all the others, the guy painting there stuff is out of this world wicked though, that guy has talent ! maybe if paule jr learned how to use the english wheel and power hammer and that shapeing bag i would think that he might have a little talent, otherwise he is just a parts mechanic. i give southern chopper the thumbs up for fabbing there own tanks and fenders although the handlebars were ugly as my first girlfrined
Yes the first southern chopper show was pretty bad, but u gotta remember the first american chopper show. It sucked sooo bad, the directing of it sucked, it was more of a documentary then a show. It has gotten alot better now, as will southern chopper ...... hopefully.
