460 operating temp

Hi

I have swap a 1990 EFI 460 to in; I just wanted to know what would be the normal (and best) operating temp for this engine; without any big mods more than better exhaust and K&N admission.

regards

Matias

Since a 190 thermostat is stock, it should run at least that at all times.

190 is not "hot" and neither is 210. People who advise you to pull your thermostat or run a 160 because you are "overheating" your engine are misinformed, and are setting you up for problems later, like excessive cylinder wear and sludge buildup.

A properly pressurized cooling system with the correct mix of coolant does not boil until 230 or higher.
