Hey Guys, I'm having a frustrating time waiting for a new truck I ordered. Maybe someone can enlighten me here. Ordered a F350 DRW Crew 4X4 P-Stroke 6 spd..( New farm truck) Truck was ordered may 3/02, Dealer said it would be an 02 model and due for delivery end of June. Another dealer tells me that order would be too late for 02 production, I would have to wait for 03 production? Nobody seems to be able to tell me what the **** is going on. Anyone have any idea what I should expect? What are the production cut-offs for 02?
Also as a side note, where is the PTO provision located on these models, and what is needed to run them? Do they run 540 or 1000? Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Getting jealous reading bout everyone getting their new trucks)
Thanks
Dave

I can't help you on the delivery or cutoff date,Maybe www.bergstromauto.com can! this is a dealer that is working with the site
drop ship orders for trucks through this site now.He goes by the user Martyb look down a few post in this forum (f450)
But the pto takeoff plate is on the tranny on the passenger side
I'll chk on your spec ? and get back to you
Okay got it
The pto spec's are different between the 6spd and the auto .
I'll give you the 6spd since thats what your ordering.
It uses a 6 bolt pattern
Gear ratio is 5.79 (low )
Pitch line velocity @1000 rpm = 806 ft/min.
rpm of pto at 1000 eng rpm= 590
# of teeth used =39
The take off plate is a little past center of pass door towards the front of the truck.
hope this helps

The 03's should start being built soon after shutdown, which is the first 2wks. in July.
I'm pretty sure(it's too late to think and verify)the PTO runs off of the side of the transmission.I don't know about RPM.
BTW,the dealer should have some solid information for you by now as to the VIN and when it was scheduled to be or was built.
Look at it this way,yor truck has less miles than ours;-) .
Thanks for the info...Damn dealer is useless,,I Hate relying on these guys for infomation,,Unfortunately in the rural areas not much choice and not much competition = no help..I know when I ordered my mustang it took 1.5 weeks on rail and that was only from michigan to ontario,,but bought from a city dealer who was willing to track my order daily if I wanted..
