D@mn Trani!!!

Hey y'all,

I could use some advice.

I just got done installing my engine after a rebuild and now my tranni is acting up.

When I pulled the engine the tourge converter came out with the engine even though I removed the fly wheel bolts and tranni fluid went everywhere.

Now I have a leak out of the flywheel cover and it jumps in and out of drive but goes into rev. fine. It I keep the RPM's up, it will stay in drive.

Anyone got any ideas? Cuz man, I'm about to throw tools and I dont want to do that!

Thanks!

I would be concerned that the torque converter was not fully seated. TC must be on the transmission when installing. The TC has three engagements and if a yardstick is placed accross the face, the TC pilot should be over 1/2 inch back from the face. Did you have to use the bolts to pull the transmission in? If so, that is very bad. Sounds like the front seal could have a slice in it now.

yes i did use the bolt to pull it in but it gave no resistance. but I did not check to see how far the TC was it before I installed the engine.

I'm begining to wonder if I have a vacuum leak also.
