Take a drive through the country & the towns - look around. I bet there are countless cars & trucks sitting, some wrecked, some have "electronic" problems that are too "expensive" to fix. You can probably negociate a good deal, and have a complete donor vehicle with all the brackets, transmission & wiring you need, plus, you can get it running BEFORE you do the swap, and know just what you have. Been there, done that - then you can sell what you dont use, and recover some of your $$$.
So, the derby goers have picked the junkyard clean??? Man, around here, everybody uses SB Chrysler engines! Just like the one sitting neatly in the engine bay of my Buick wagon! There is a junkyard 5 minutes away that has countless, complete Ford engines all around!
I have heard you can stuff a 460 into a 'stang. I am doing a 4cyl to 302 swap also, and traded for a running, but wrecked Lincoln of the same year.
haha thanks man! i guess the search is on :P what kind of drive shaft are you using, do you know if there is one that will fit or do i have to have one shortened?
